Will Guitar Hero World Tour be a great and revolutionary video game like Rock Band? Or just be seen as a copycat? It’s hard to say.
Right now Guitar Hero World Tour is scheduled to “outdo” Rock Band by including the mic, guitar, drums, and the new Bass. Now you and 3 friends can party up and pretend to be the rock stars of the century. The jury is still out if this will be better or worse than the popular Rock Band. But one thing is for sure:
Playing Guitar Hero World Tour or Rock Band will not make you rich and famous.
I find it hilarious when people post videos of themselves performing to Guitar Hero or Rock Band on YouTube. Some even go so far as to wear the costumes of their favorite rockstar. I do not understand the attraction or maybe I do. Nothing beats getting up on stage and playing your heart out to a real audience. I guess these games simulate the experience of playing in a real rock band. While it isn’t nearly like the real thing, not even like playing a Lynyrd Skynyrd tune in a local dive bar, I guess that simulating the experience with Guitar Hero is enough for some people. Not everybody wants to take the time to get good enough with guitar or drums to go on a World Tour even if they could. They are happy just pretending to rock out with their video game like Rock Band. I guess it is whatever floats your boat in the long run.
