Obama’s Uncle did NOT help liberate Auschwitz, because Auschwitz was liberated by Soviet forces. Now was the a statement to help boost Obama’s popularity and make his family seem more patriotic?
Well his campaign says he just “misspoke”. It turns out the Obama’s uncle helped liberate Buchenwald a sub-camp in April 1945 as part of the 89th Infantry Division.
His campaign says it was his grandmother’s brother, Charlie Payne. Will the clear up the confusion or just make Obama seem a little less credible?
Chances are everyone will forget in a week…
I am more bothered over Hillary’s account of being under sniper fire that was completely false. And worse yet her campaign chalked it up to her being tired.
If she can vividly recall sniper fire when she is tired, America could be in serious trouble if she is the one answering the red phone at 3 AM.
To make matters worse, she went on late night TV and joked about it. As far as I am concerned that was a slap in the face to every soldier who is currently facing sniper fire every day. She owes them all an apology.
Obama made a mistake but confusing the names of foreign camps is easy to do. His Uncle served proudly and did help liberate a camp. I agree that most people will forget about this misstatement in a few days.
